We're happy to introduce you to Julie and JN. This adorable pair were married just a few days ago in Austria (insert heart emojis here). Today they share their beautiful love story with us. Keep an eye out for a post on their ultra-romantic wedding coming soon to In Bloom blog!
How and when did you meet?
We met in 2009 at the U of S residence through mutual friends.
How did you know she/he was the one?
JN: For me, it was over an intense group game of Catch Phrase. We just were on the same page about every clue. We had inside jokes for everything. It made me realize how much we'd been through and done together and it made me excited about the future together.
Julie: It was clear to me from the very beginning because JN is constantly pushing me to do better and to be better. He brings out the best in me. I'm so grateful to have him in my corner.
Any activities or interests that you enjoy together?
Travelling and road trips definitely. Cooking. Throwing around a baseball or frisbee at the river. Board games. Classic rock music. Jeopardy and trivia. And as of recently, canoeing!
Tell us all about the proposal!
I (Julie) was in Vancouver for a work conference and I decided to extend my trip to stay for the weekend to spend time with JN's family. JN kept insisting he couldn't come because he was too busy with work. Turns out, he did make it to Vancouver... He got his brother to drag me to Canada Place, where he was waiting for me with the ocean and the mountains in the background. I thought the surprise ended there then he got down on one knee!
And the ring....
I found the ring at our first visit to GMG. It's a Simon G emerald diamond with double halo. think I went back 10 times to try it on and make sure it was the one. Barb was so patient and accommodating every time.
When are you getting married and what are you most looking forward to?
July 13th is the big day, in a small town in the mountains of Austria. We are so excited to have a relaxed and intimate wedding day. Afterwards, we are road tripping through Slovenia and Croatia.
