She Said YES! Angelina & Vincent

She Said YES! Angelina & Vincent

A chance meeting seven years ago brought these two lovebirds together and today, Angelina and Vincent share their beautiful engagement story.  Vincent's planning paid off as the most breathtaking photos of their Toronto engagement were captured.  Scroll through the stunning images - we're certain they'll tug at your heartstrings!

How did you meet?

Angelina: That story is kind of funny because we both aren’t big bar people, but we met at a bar on Queen Street West in Toronto. My friends were dancing on a stage and while it was fun watching them, I wasn’t about to get up there, so I was standing nearby texting my younger brother. I’ll let Vincent explain the rest.

Vincent: I saw her and I was interested and I voiced it. I asked her a few times and then finally got her number. This may sound cheesy, but I told a friend I was with “I’m going to marry that girl.”

When did you know he she was the one?

V:  There definitely wasn’t a specific time but it happened overtime. Getting to know the inside, the outside, the good and the bad, then I realized it - she was the one.

A: For me there was a moment, but it wasn’t very glamorous. It was during Vincent’s first visit to Saskatoon to meet my family and friends. I opened the front door of my parents’ house for him after he took out the garbage and I just looked at him and got this overwhelming feeling of love. Shortly after I told him I loved him for the first time, and he said it back!

Tell us about the proposal

V: I had a photographer set up because we wanted to remember the moment. I took her out for a nice dinner then we walked down Adelaide Street in Toronto. I had a spot planned with photographers waiting and popped the question. It took a bit of planning.

A: It was so thoughtful and organized. He had a whole ruse set up so I wouldn’t know what was going on. He had a hotel booked across the street, which was set up before we arrived. He even had an overnight bag of my things dropped off at the hotel while we were at dinner. He booked breakfast and massages the next day as well. I’m so appreciative of the thought, time and organization Vincent put in to everything.

And the ring

A: It’s beautiful! Although Vincent and I talked about getting engaged and married we didn’t ever go ring shopping together. He wanted to purchase it alone, which I think is romantic. I appreciate that sentiment and trust his great taste. He had an idea of what I like and dislike and he chose the perfect ring. It’s even more beautiful than I could have imagined!

V: With Angelina not being a part of the process at all, I thought it would be difficult. But, having Jan’s help made it a fun and smooth process. Aside from the wonderful selection, the customer service was impeccable and I’m looking forward to going back to GMG Jewellers to buy our wedding bands.

What do you look forward to the most for your wedding day?

A: I look most forward to the vows and reciting our own words before family, friends and God, and making official just how committed I am to Vincent and our new life together.

V: I’m most excited about “sealing the deal”, starting the new part of our lives together and watching Angelina walk down the aisle.

And married life

A: We have been dating for seven years and have been living together for about four, so I always thought not much would change after we get married. But, even after the proposal I feel a new connection and added commitment to Vincent, so I’m excited to see what being married feels like. I’m looking forward to one day starting a family together.

V: I’m most looking forward to just enjoying our future together and staying true to our vows.

Are you set on any specific plans for your wedding day?

A: We haven’t done much planning yet, but we think the wedding will be in Toronto and we’re hoping to have at least part of the reception on a rooftop overlooking the city.

V: I’d like to have the reception on a rooftop.

Any details or inspirations that that you plan to draw from for your wedding day?

A: We plan on drawing from our family and friends as inspiration. We want to ensure all our guests have a great time so we’ll be thinking of them during the planning – especially when it comes to music, food and drinks!

Thank you to Angelina and Vincent for sharing their engagement story with us and a special thank you to HRM Photography for the most breathtaking photographs!
