She said Yes! - Jaime & Karl

Meet high school sweethearts, Jaime and Karl.  Together since grade 9, these lovebirds are set to tie the knot in just a few more sleeps!   Today we feature Jamie and Karl's engagement story.  We are sure their breathtaking photos and loving responses will leave your heart full. 

How did you meet?

We are both from a small town called Shaunavon and went to school together. We were the high school sweetheart’s that started dating in grade 9 and have been together ever since.

 When did you know he was the one?

I don’t know if it was one specific moment for me. I just knew that I wouldn’t want to live my life without him.

And when did you know Jaime was the one?

Both of us have attended post secondary in different cities after high school, and after doing a long distance relationship you realize how important someone is to you.

Tell us about the proposal

On boxing day, we drove to Banff, Alberta for the night. This was a surprise to me. I didn’t know what to expect. I just thought wow what a nice way to spend the day in the mountains. I have always loved being there so I was just excited to spend the day with Karl. We checked into a nice resort, went for lunch and walked around looking at the beautiful landscape. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee in the snow asking me to marry him! It was really the best day!

And the ring

Karl: Being from a small town, I searched everywhere online for a ring. I had something in my mind already. I just had to find a place that had what I was looking for. I eventually came upon GMG Jewelers and found the ring.

Jaime: I didn’t even look at the ring right after Karl purposed. He said, “well, what do you think of the ring?” Let’s just say I stared at it the entire drive back to Shaunavon. I was in awe! My ring is a beautiful round coast diamond with crossed bands. I just love the detail to it all! Karl did a great job picking it out!

What do you most look forward to on your wedding day?

We can both say that moment when we get to see each other at either end of the aisle. That’ll be a great moment. Just knowing I get to marry my best friend is so exciting.

And married life?

We are both excited to start our life together. We are moving onto a family farm where we will be renovating a house to make it a place of our own.

How is wedding planning going

Planning is going well. Everyone has been so helpful. We are lucky to have a really great support system that’s helped us through the whole process.

Any details or inspirations you’ve drawn from for your wedding day?

We really love the rustic country farm look so we’ve decided to incorporate that look for our wedding. So lots of barn wood, mason jars, and babies breath.
