Hitched - Leah & Justin

Hitched - Leah & Justin

Leah and Justin were married August 3, 2013 in beautiful Canmore, Alberta.  The ceremony was held at Sacred Heart Church with the reception at the Grande Rockies Resort.  Leah recently penned a reflection of their love story to share with In Bloom.  So without further ado, we welcome Leah to share her love story with us.

How we met

Justin and I met in high school but didn't really know each other.  He was quiet and calm while I was outgoing and strong willed.  We shared a few friends in common so after I returned from being away at University, we began hanging out together.  I immediately knew that I liked him.  He was funny, smart and the kindest person I had ever met.  I told all of our friends and made sure that they let him know. This went on for TWO years!  I thought that at least we were friends and I had him in my life in some way.  Then one night when we were out, he told me he felt the same way. I asked what had taken so long and why he hadn't said something sooner.  He told me, "I wanted to wait until I knew you were going to be the one I spent the rest of my life with."  Seven years later we were married!

Our Fairy Tale Wedding

It all started with me opening my eyes and thinking, "This is really it - I'm getting married!" The girls were getting ready with hair, make-up and of course, champagne. We laughed and joked all morning and although it was busy, every minute felt relaxed and fun.  The time flew by and before we knew it, we were piled into the limo heading to the church. The church was huge but easily filled with our guests showing their love and support.  Walking through the church doors was terrifying until I saw my very soon-to-be husband - then the nerves just melted away.  After the ceremony, we walked outside the church into the beautiful streets of Canmore.  Though rain was in the forecast, the sun was shining and the clouds cleared.  We really had the best day possible!  Pictures were taken around the beautiful mountains and we laughed with our wedding party at how lucky we were to be able to celebrate this day together.  We made our way back to the resort to finish pictures and start our night. The rest went all too fast - we danced, we cheered, we cried and we made sure everyone enjoyed the night.  Looking back on our day, our photographs only reiterate the best choice I made and the love that we have for each other.   It really was a fairy tale!
