Jul 12 TRUE LOVE: CARA + CALEB

We're so excited to introduce you to one of the sweetest couples who just so happen to have the most adorable proposal. Read on to hear all about their magical engagement from the happiest place on earth!

How did you first meet?

We are actually high school sweethearts! We dated for a short time in our Grade 12 year and split up for a couple years where we both spent some time in school, working, travelling and figuring out life! When I returned from a year away in Australia we got back together and haven't been able to stay apart since!

They say that love always finds a way... and that's completely true in your love story. Tell us a bit about how you knew you were totally right for each other.

Cara - As soon as we met in high school I could never get Caleb out of my mind and our relationship always felt unfinished to me! When I got home after my year away and saw how thoughtful, selfless and patient he was, I knew he had me. His sense of humour and the care he puts in everything never fails to amaze me and I can't believe how lucky I am to have him.

Caleb - While Cara was traveling I realized life without her was not something I wanted! She is so generous, loving and stunning; I knew I had to do something about it. As soon as she came back I made sure to try and snag her as soon as I could and I couldn't be happier with how it's turned out.

Your proposal was memorable, thoughtful and really really cute. Can you tell us a bit about it?

Our proposal was in Disneyland in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. Caleb somehow managed to give us a super relaxing morning, which knowing how much I plan our trips, is super rare to see. We had just finished going on some rides when Caleb noticed there was a very short line in front of the castle to take photos so he suggested we jump in and get a few! After taking a couple, he got down on one knee and asked! We got photos of the whole thing and spent the rest of the day being pampered by Disney staff with help from the "Happily Ever After" buttons that were given to us. It was the sweetest way he could of done it knowing our love for Disney and we are so lucky to be able to have actual photos of the moment!

I had a feeling it might happen at some point during our trip. However, Caleb is such a patient and thoughtful guy, I thought he was going to make me wait until the last day! So in the moment, I really wasn't expecting it! I'm so happy he did it when he did though because we were able to spend the rest of our vacation as fiancés which was pretty incredible.

Was it a surprise to Cara?

I believe her words were "Caleb. Are you serious?!" So thankfully I think I managed to surprise her a little bit! And after a long pause she obviously said yes.

And that ring... what do you think of it Cara?

I think it is absolutely beautiful! The way it captures light is breathtaking. It is everything I could have asked for, I love how it has what I wanted in a ring but with Caleb's style in it as well. I am still taken back by it every time I look down at my hand. He definitely spoiled me. We can't say enough good things about Jaimie and our experience at GMG.

Any plans for the big day?

We are thinking of a fall wedding here in Saskatoon so all of our friends and family are able to come. We love greenery and natural light so we are looking at doing it at the University of Saskatchewan. We are actually having an amazing time planning our big day and can't wait until we are able to call ourselves husband and wife!
