A Dream Come True
Mid-August, Chandra received a call from GMG Jewellers announcing that she had won our Noam Carver $10,000 custom designed diamond ring giveaway. She was ecstatic and so were we. We could hardly wait for Chandra to meet Noam and to see what the two would dream up together. Noam and his team flew to Saskatoon recently to meet with Chandra and we just had to ask her a few questions about her experience. Read on to hear her thoughts.
1. What was your inspiration for the design of your ring?
My inspiration for this design was vintage elegance. My current wedding ring (also by Noam Carver) is quite modern with a touch of vintage underneath. I wanted this ring to be very detail oriented but also tie in with my current ring by bringing the diamond shapes into the design.
2. How did you feel when you got "the call" notifying you of your winnings?
Honestly I was soo shocked. I may have asked a million times if this was for real! I also may have teared up a little... Hahaha. I've never won anything before so this is beyond amazing.
3. In the days leading up to meeting Noam, how were you feeling?
I had been drawing and searching pinterest every chance I could get! My brain was soo full of ideas that I didn't know if I would ever make a decision! But finally I think I found a perfect balance.
4. What did you think when you walked in and met Noam
I was soo nervous! It felt like a million degrees in there. But once I met him and and we talked a bit, I felt right at home. He made me feel as if I should be designing rings with him all of the time. He is such a talented man.
5. Do you feel that you were both able to work together in designing the ring of your dreams?
Haha yes, and no. I may be a bit stubborn... But in the end Noam came up with an amazing idea that just pulled the whole ring together and made it soo much more elegant! It's the little things that make the most impact.
6. Did anything change from your original inspiration to the finished collaborative design?
After going home and thinking on it I may have came up with one more idea! Cannot wait to see the computer drawing and see what we have created!
7. Naom's new line was on display that day. What did you think of it?
Naom's new line is beyond gorgeous!!! I need at least 3 of those pieces in my life! My favorite ring was a gold pyramid band with a brushed finish! Soo pretty!
