Hitched: Christine + Brad
One of the newest GMG couples is Christine and Brad, who had a magical wedding in Cabo San Lucas this March. These love birds met at the old location of the Crazy Cactus in July of 2014, and so begins their love story. Read on to hear their story of the engagement and wedding, told from Christine’s perspective.
When did you know he was the one? I knew he was when he told me to go to yoga teacher training and become whom ever I wanted to be, even though we had debt.
Tell us about the proposal. We were hiking in Croatia through Plitvice Lakes and he asked in front of my favorite waterfall. It was perfect.
Tell us about the ring. Brad knew exactly what I wanted even though I had only told him one time years ago. I didn't know he had picked out the ring so he had to hide it from me throughout our Europe trip.
How would you describe your wedding? I would call our wedding romantic. We went simple with the decorations (mostly fairy lights) and of course the beautiful ocean.
Give us a brief overview of how your day was. The day was absolutely perfect, everything about it was amazing. My dad teared up when he saw me in my dress and all my friends and family were waiting for us to arrive. I walked down the isle and everyone at the resort who could see us cheered! I saw Brad and everything faded away and my eyes welled up with tears. Such a perfect day.
Were there any surprises, special moments, things that didn’t go quite as planned, or funny stories that happened to make the day extra special? The resort went above and beyond! They did extra lighting, they did a full bar with bartenders, and even did special flower arrangements. Great surprises!
What were some of the things that made your day unique? Well, it was spring break for America so there was a lot of cheering which was kinda cool.
What were your favourite memories and moments? We did a planned first dance and we didn't forget any of the moves!
Do you have any advice for future brides? If you do a destination wedding, remember to get a resort that it small enough that you can visit with everyone, because you will want to!
