Maria & Nick were married this past summer in the spectacular Prince Albert National Park, and we couldn’t be happier to share their beautiful love story.

How did the two of you meet?

We met at work and we still work together. When I first met Nick he was kind, confident, very attractive, and we got along really well! However, I worked with him and wanted to keep things professional, so I had my mind made up that the most he would be is "eye-candy" around the office.

Clearly things didn’t go as planned, what changed?

After a couple more deep conversations about life we hit it off right away with similar passions, ambitions, and other things in common. I quickly realized that he was easily the most perfect human and decided to…. **insert eye rolls here**… date my co-worker after all. We have been inseparable ever since and are super excited for our life together!

When did you know that he was the one?

It was right away! When you know, you know.

Tell us about the proposal.

It was perfect and I definitely didn’t see it coming! Nick rented the honeymoon/penthouse suite and had rose petals everywhere… bouquets of flowers, champagne, a music playlist…. And he proposed on the balcony overlooking Lake Louise! It was definitely one of the most special moments of life!

And the ring...

I LOVE my ring! I still have no idea how he knew what size I was or what I would like for style, but he got it down perfect. I couldn’t have picked a more beautiful ring myself! It’s a custom made Noam Carver ring! He worked with Robert on picking it out!

Tell us a little bit about your wedding.

Our wedding was on June 23rd at Elkridge Resort – so we wanted a forest/glam look. The colours we chose were light pink, dark blue, and flat gold and we had a whole lot of greenery! Between RSVP Event Design and Blossoms Floral, our wedding dreams came to life in the most perfect way!

What was the most memorable part of day?

The entire day was perfect and magical! It flew by wayyyy too fast, but that’s something fairly common that newlyweds say.

The part I will treasure most is the ceremony for sure - even though the weather was not ideal… it felt like a hurricane. The feels, the people and support, and most importantly the vows and promises we made while actually becoming a married couple is the most memorable and special moment that I will remember from our wedding day! Everything after this point was memorable and special and will forever be cherished as well, but when I reflect on the most memorable moment, it was hearing Nick’s amazing vows and then getting to marry my best friend!

We also had a blast at our reception as we celebrated with our best friends and family members. The whole day will be one we will never forget, and we are so thankful for the video and photos- we can re-live all the feels from the day every time we look at our pictures and watch the video!

We’d love to hear how wedding planning went for you – did it go as planned?

Our wedding planning experience was great, especially because of Crystal at RSVP Event Design. Crystal is amazing and I highly recommend her to every bride who doesn’t want to have the stress prior to, and the day of, with planning a wedding. Her entire team made our dream wedding come to life and it turned out even more perfect than we imagined. I honestly don’t know of anything going wrong that day, but I am sure she just hasn’t told me!

What advice would you give future brides?

On the day of, make sure you take time to look around and appreciate everyone who came together to make your day so insanely special. The day flies by and you need to capture all the feels you can! Also, if you can work it in your budget, don’t cheap out on video or photos! There is so much going on that day that having amazing pictures and a video to reflect on is so important. I can’t tell you how many times when I was looking through our pictures I said “Oh my gosh, I forgot about this moment!
